A movement for a long due breakthrough

“We invited Katalin to Maharishi School to present her story to secondary staff and pupils. It was inspirational for our pupils to hear the story of Katalin’s personal and professional successes. I found Katalin to be a very credible person who has a sound knowledge of both autism and Transcendental Meditation.  We are fully supportive of Katalin’s ambition to prove that an autistic nervous system would benefit from Transcendental Meditation and that the autistic community worldwide deserves special attention and support. In order to achieve this aim, wider research will be needed. I can vouch for the professionalism that we encountered at Maharishi School during the pilot and would be happy to speak about our experience with head teachers from other schools where TM/the Quiet Time programme is part of their school day.”

“My son 21 Now, was assessed when he was 8.5 years old. His anxieties transitioned into anger - with self loathing afterwards.  When it was time for choosing high school, it was very hard as he was put with the naughty children. The Maharishi school was a life changer. The difference in myself, being able to help him with his anxiety, helped me calm down and understand. TM helped me understand on different levels before they understood them, then I was in a calmer state, and I got how their minds work.” My son now, he is in his last year of university, -when you look at him and the when he was 8 1/2 year old, it’s worlds apart now! TM is such a simple thing to learn, it can guide your children in ways you didn’t think possible - it’s not just for your children - it’s for yourself.

“My son (Darcy 13) is in the process of being diagnosed. It feels very different when it is your own child all of a sudden. TM provides me with calmness and it was beautiful to witness the same thing with my son. He needs a better understanding I see/witness. TM helps him reset him one at a time, to take a deep breath, so to speak. He finds it easier at home, we sit and meditate together. On weekends or school holidays, it has more fluidity, less rigidity, than at school. “ I see a benefit of the afternoon meditation, he’s 13. It’s like a sigh at the end of the day, a deep breath. “For me as a parent, it’s provided me with an inner stillness, when I regularly meditate. I feel more grounded, I feel hooked with myself , that extra inner calm. It definitely gives me more patience, my responses are more considered. Take a breath before responding; a considered reaction. It allows me to be more aware, allows me that deeper awareness when I’m regularly meditating.”

“Meditation makes it a bit easier to socialise because socialising sometimes isn’t easy. Sometimes it’s not. I feel good again after (TM).So it’s like, you feel a lot more confident, a bit less anxious, which helps a lot.”It resets you. I’m building my own games. I’ve done most of it. I have to add functions of the game. “ I have 4 sisters. Without TM I wouldn’t be able to be as nice to them.”

“Sam didn’t speak till he was six. We waited for three years to get into the Maharishi school, whilst I did three years of homeschooling. He knows how to reset with the meditation, he goes to sleep, - he says - , in his mind. He looks forward to the meditation, he just likes it! He never had a meltdown about meditation, it makes him step back. I do meditation too. You have a little moment of clarity, you change the way you do things. “ We speak more, we are closer. He can discuss anything now. He didn’t have a word until he was six and now he goes into depth. He talks like a grown-up even. Sam has changed from a frightened little boy to a young man, who knows exactly what he wants. TM gets rid of all the worry, the anxiety and he goes to sleep – rest – his mind as well. He now works on things, instead of worrying.

If I know, I have something hard to do, I do meditation before. The one thing with meditation, it kind of brings you forward, after 13 to15 minutes when you can do it, you kind of feel more prepared and ready. Trying to deal with more difficulties than normal everyday problems, like homework, then the essays I was talking about, - you kind of see it, but you can’t remember what to do, you don’t know what to think of it. TM helps me with tasks, somewhat helps me with my memory. You can approach the problem, kind of approach it more easily, with more understanding. Have the Meditation, give it a little break and after, (then) you will feel more focused, you will feel more aware – (and )you have more understanding!
